6 EQUIPMENT RECOVERY
6.1
RECOVERY
NOTE
When preparing to recover the antenna wire elements,
unclip them from the balun and clip them to the mast,
or a stake, so you have something to give you tension
to pull or roll against. Preparation for movement is the
exact reverse sequence of erection. Lower the balun
slowly, because there is a heavy mass of wires, coax,
etc. If time permits, they should be let down some,
and then pulled away some more. The wire sequence of
rollup is 4 -3, 4 -3, 2-1 on each of the reels.
NOTE
The halyard and weak link can be rolled right over the
top of the wires on one of the antenna element spools.
